To set any options for QuickNote just click the “Prefs” button from the QuickNote Control Panel window.
Here is the description of the check boxes:
• Icon at Start-up:
If checked, an icon will be displayed during startup.
• Command-click text save/close:
If checked, command-clicking text while editing will automatically save the note and close the QuickNote editor window (this is only useful if you have Internet Config & ICeTEe installed, for launching URLs).
• “Smart” quotes:
If checked, smart quotes will be used while editing text (e.g., if you type a " or ' character it will be automatically converted into a “” or ‘’ character).
• Remember print settings:
If checked, each note will retain any changes made in the Page Setup dialog for printing.
Date and Time Info:
• Show Seconds in Time:
If checked, the seconds will be added to the time when using the Insert Time option while editing text (e.g., 2:21:22 PM).
• Short, Abbrev. & Long Date formats:
You select which type of date to use when inserting a date while editing text:
Short = 5/8/97
Abbrev. = Thu, May 8, 1997
Long = Thursday, May 8, 1997
• Font Info:
You can change the font and size used in text display (and editing) as well as the font and size used in the lists.
Special Applications:
You can create a list of applications that cause problems while using QuickNote. If the application is completely QuickNote unfriendly you can turn QuickNote off in the application entirely by checking the "Turn Off QuickNote in this application". Sometimes an application will have problems with certain aspects of QuickNote such as the auto-copy, auto-paste, or clip conversion. If so, uncheck the appropriate check boxes depending on what problems you are having with the application (you'll have to experiment with applications to find what will work).
To add an application to the list, click the “Add” button, select the application and click the “Open” button. Check the appropriate check boxes for that application. To change options for an application already in the list, select the application in the list and click the “Edit” button. To remove an application from the list, select it with the mouse and click the “Remove” button.
